Our Review:
Tucked away from the bustle of Bristol’s busy streets lies Flour & Ash—a culinary hideaway that feels more like a whispered secret than a restaurant. Blink and you might miss it, but those in the know will tell you one thing: book ahead. This place fills up fast—and for very good reason.

From the moment we stepped inside, the warm, rustic ambience wrapped around us like a comforting embrace. Soft lighting, exposed brick, and that unmistakable scent of wood-fired dough set the scene for an unforgettable evening.

We began with their house sourdough, still warm from the oven. Each slice crackled delightfully as we tore into it, dipping it into rich olive oil that glistened like liquid gold. Simple? Yes. But executed with such finesse, it became a dish in its own right.

Then came the lobster arancini—crisp, golden spheres that revealed a creamy, saffron-scented risotto centre laced with tender lobster. Each bite was indulgent, luxurious, and left us silently nodding in shared approval.

The real showstopper, though, was the pizza. Flour & Ash’s signature wood-fired bases are truly something to behold: blistered just right, chewy yet crisp, and the perfect canvas for bold toppings. I opted for the NY Meatball—a punchy, flavour-packed choice, complete with crispy brussel sprouts for a touch of smoky crunch. My partner went classic with the Margherita, allowing the tomato base and silky mozzarella to shine. We shared a side of truffle fries that delivered earthy, salty richness with every bite.

A surprise highlight? The trio of house-made dips—parmesan aioli, nduja mayo, and pesto mayo—each one worthy of its own fanfare. We found ourselves dunking everything in sight.
