From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming waitress, whose surprise at seeing two British visitors added to the friendly, inviting atmosphere. Her hospitality perfectly set the tone for our culinary journey through classic American breakfast dishes.

Waldo Cafe embodies the quintessential American neighbourhood diner. Its cozy interior, friendly staff, and casual vibe make it an ideal spot for both locals and visitors seeking an authentic breakfast experience. Whether you’re stopping by for a hearty meal or a quick coffee and pastry, the café’s charm lies in its simplicity and welcoming ambiance.
What We Ordered:
One delightful surprise was that every guest receives a complimentary cinnamon roll, instantly hooking me on anything cinnamon-related—from cinnamon rolls to swirls. The breakfast menu offers American favourites, including Chicken and Waffles, Breakfast Burritos, Biscuits and Gravy, and the hearty Country Breakfast. My husband chose the comforting Eggs Benedict, while I explored the Country Breakfast with Biscuits and Gravy, Hashbrowns, Eggs, Bacon, and a Sausage Patty. The Hashbrowns were a revelation—a generous mound of grated potato and onion, perfectly crisped. The eggs were served classic American-style Sunny Side Up, a preparation slowly gaining recognition back home.
Service & Overall Experience:
Portions at Waldo Cafe are substantial, ensuring that a light lunch or just coffee and cake kept us satisfied until dinner—a routine we happily followed during our two-week stay. The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, which, combined with the generous servings and quality of the food, made each visit a pleasure.
