Greetings! In this post, I’ll discuss our upcoming adventures, which are sure to include plenty of delicious food.
The rest of 2024
With 2024 over halfway through, we can look back at the many countries we have visited. We’ve been to Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France and Spain, visiting these cities, Bremen, Bruges, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, La Rochelle, Le Havre, La Coruna and Bilbao. Our standouts have been Rotterdam and Bilbao for sure, both are lovely places to visit, but their culinary scenes were bountiful. Rotterdam has a huge food market hall, rightly named the Markthal (get it, short for Market Hall 😛 ) These places were all visited via cruise ships, P&O’s Iona and MSC’s Virtuosa.
For the rest of 2024, we have a trip to South West Wales in August, where we’ll be visiting plenty of eateries…depending on how my upcoming tooth extraction goes! Fingers crossed! We plan on visiting the likes of Barry Island, Tenby, Fishguard, St.Davids, just to name a few towns and villages. We have a week off in October, with a chance of another staycation, this will end up being a long weekend, or a few midweek days, potential places include Dublin, Belfast or the Cotswolds.
2025
Next year we would have only been on 4 cruises in our lifetime, which all started recently when we were treated to our first cruise back in 2022 (this would have been 2020, but we all know what cropped up in that year…). We have since done 2 cruises to Norway, and two Northern European cruises visiting the location mentioned above. Next year, we have 3 cruises, and two of them are for a fortnight, so we will be spending a whopping 5 weeks at sea next year! We have another Northern European cruise, which visits similar cities as mentioned above, Bruges, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam, but with the addition of Hamburg. Then in April, we have a wedding gift cruise, which takes us round the canaries, visiting these locations: Madeira, La Palma, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Cadiz and Lisbon. This is then followed in July by our first Mediterranean cruise, which visits these locations: Cadiz, Ibiza, Mallorca, Cartagena and Gibraltar.
2026
This is currently being decided, and we have lightly pencilled in a trip to America to visit our Kansas City friends by doing a road trip into Colorado. We have also lightly pencilled in for them to then visit us and do a road trip around Scotland.
2027
Once again, nothing is set in concrete, but there have been talks of Disneyland Paris, and visiting the French Riveria. So looks like it could be an all-French year of holidays!
So that’s our current plans in terms of holidays, I’m sure there’ll be a few small ones scattered across as well, but there will be plenty of reviews going up, both on the blog, on Google and shared across social media.
