Nestled in the vibrant district of Vesterbro, Copenhagen, Burger Garage is a trendy spot that promises a unique burger experience. With its industrial-chic decor and laid-back atmosphere, this eatery has quickly become a favourite among locals and tourists alike. But does it live up to the hype? Let’s dive into my experience at Burger Garage Vesterbro.

Our Review:
“We visited Burger Garage Vesterbro back in February 2023 during our honeymoon. We chose this establishment due to its close proximity to our hotel. Its easy-to-reach location, thanks to the nearby metro station, makes it accessible from anywhere within Copenhagen.
The decor gave slightly mixed vibes with red brick walls, scattered with random American number plates and metal advertisement signs. However, the tables had a very cosy feel with smooth wooden surfaces and flickering candles.
The menu featured an array of delicious-sounding burgers, as well as classic dishes like nachos, steak, and fish ‘n’ chips. That night, we both fancied the chicken nachos, along with their “little snack” side, which included two onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and chilli cheese nuggets.
When the nachos arrived, they were absolutely huge. Stacked mountain-high with tortilla chips, cheese, and jalapeños, accompanied by cute little ramekins of salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. The flavours were a perfect combination, apart from the jalapeños, which were a bit too spicy for us. The selection of sides was beautifully crispy on the outside, with a gooey, melting cheese centre. The portion was so big that we couldn’t finish it. The total price for our food order came to 342kr, which works out to £38.68, or nearly £17 for a portion of nachos. In hindsight, this is on the expensive side, but all Scandinavian countries are pricey to visit.
Finally, the service was hit-and-miss. I booked our table through their website, but when we arrived and mentioned our reservation, the waitress looked around and said, “Okay, well it doesn’t matter because we aren’t busy,” and told us to sit anywhere. This could have been handled better, but our server was very friendly and made up for the initial interaction. Burger Garage Vesterbro was a good start to our honeymoon, but we soon found out that better was to come.”
Pros & Cons:
- Huge portion of nachos. ✅
- Large burger selection. ✅
- Excellent location.✅
- The decor is slightly disjointed. ❌
- Blunt waitress.❌
- A bit on the expensive side. ❌
Gourmet Gauge:
The food was delicious and well-presented, with dips served in charming ramekins. The decor was somewhat disjointed, featuring a mix of random metal signs on the walls, but the cosy, romantic tables adorned with flickering candles added a nice touch. Service was hit-and-miss, and the value was on the expensive side, which is typical for Scandinavian countries.
