Back at the end of August, I made a list of 18 things I wanted to do during Autumn, with nearly two months gone, and only the month of November left, how are we getting on? From what I can tell, we have currently checked off 9, leaving 9 more to try and conquer. Scroll down below to check out the ones we have ticked off.
- Watch the Harry Potter Movies. We did that on the build-up to our recent adventure. I rate the films I watch on Letterboxd, so head over there if you fancy doing that as well. Here’s how I rated the 8 films.
- Deathly Hallows Pt2 – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Half-Blood Prince – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Prisoner of Azkaban – ⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2
- Order of the Phoenix – ⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2
- Goblet of Fire – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Chamber of Secrets – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Deathly Hallows Pt1 – ⭐⭐⭐
- Philosophers Stone – ⭐⭐⭐
- Have an Autumnal Walk. We did plenty of this on our recent adventure, which I’ll comment about shortly, as its featured on our autumnal list. We had autumnal walks in the city, as well as amongst nature.
- Visit a Castle. Like the previous one, we ticked this off on our recent adventure.
- Eat Something Cinnamonny. On our recent adventure, we visited quite a few bakeries, and one place that we went to sold a Cinnamon Creme Pastry, which was absolutely perfect. It was the perfect amount of creaminess and cinnamonness.
- Visit Edinburgh. Low and behold, that is where we have just come back from…and what a city it was! We said numerous times during our vacation that we want to return to Edinburgh, and the surrounding areas (which you’ll find out more about on upcoming blogs). We had autumnal walks through the city, rain tapping against the pavement, wind blowing leaves off the nearby parks. We also visited Edinburgh Castle which stands proudly atop the mountainous hill in the middle of the city.
- Have an Autumnal Coffee. This one was never going to be for me, as I cant stand coffee, but my husband has been trying the autumnal ranges across the coffee giants. Costa, Starbucks, Black Sheep have all been tried.
- Decorate the House With Autumnal Decorations. This is the first year we have properly been settled into our house, so we have been able to go out and buy decorations. We have an autumnal gonk, felt pumpkins, new autumnal bedding, doormat and some kitchen bits, such as tea towels and a table runner.
- Visit an English Heritage Property. This was Edinburgh Castle for us, though not in England, you do get a discount with English Heritage.
- Visit an Outstanding Area of Natural Beauty. I’m not sure if Glencoe is actually classed as one, but we visited it during our breakaway, and it was truly mind-blowing.
