Being from the UK, we have loads of snacks to choose from. I’m going to create multiple lists below in the following categories; crisps, chocolate & other.
Crisps
I looooove crisps. They’re so easy to eat and once you start you simply cannot stop. Here’s a list of my favourite crisps which can be found in the UK (and probably ordered online if you want to try them)
- Monster Munch, corn based crisps, shaped as monsters feet, or the monsters themselves depending on how you look at them. Comes in roast beef, flamin’ hot and pickled onion flavours.
- Nik Naks, nobbly corn snacks, one of my favourites. Come in nice ‘n’ spicy, rib ‘n’ saucy and scampi ‘n’ lemon. They used to do a cream ‘n’ cheesy flavour, which in my eyes was one of the best flavours in the crisp market.
- Skips, tingly prawn cocktail shell shaped crisps. They literally melt on your tongue.
- Frazzles, bacon flavoured bacon rasher shaped crisps. Some of the most bacon-y flavoured crisps you can get.
Chocolate
Lets be honest. Chocolate is known worldwide. In the UK we have so many different chocolate bars, whether it’s from big manufacturers such as Cadbury & Nestle, as well as from plenty of artisanal businesses. Here’s some of my favourites:
- Flake, produced by Cadbury. Crumbly chocolate in the shape of a straw. Try eating it without making a mess, near impossible!
- Magic Stars, these usually come in a sharing bag that you would find in a cinema or a supermarket. Little star shaped chocolates with different faces on. I used to empty the bag and then organise the stars into their faces and see which face has the most chocolates.
- Ripple, this one is made by Galaxy, which is owned by the Mars company. It is similar to Cadbury’s Flake bar, except it is then covered in more chocolate.
- Malteasers, my husbands favourite snack. Light malty balls, covered in chocolate. Pop them into your mouth and the chocolate melts off leaving a lovely malty biscuit.
Other
In the UK we have loads of other different snack alternatives. We have cake bars, wafers, yoghurts, almost anything could be deemed as a snack, we have mini cheeses and fruit too. Here is some of the other snacks I like that don’t fall into the other 2 categories.
- Mr Kipling, not specifically a cake bar, but more of a manufacturer of cakes. They make all sorts, from Victoria Sponges, Bakewell Slices, French Fancies.
- Jaffa Cakes, I don’t like these, but my husband absolutely does. They’re a strange one as they’re small pieces of cake lined with a orange jam, covered in chocolate. Although it contains cake, it sits with the biscuits.
- Penguin, this falls into the wafer category. Chocolate biscuit, with a chocolate filling, covered in chocolate. Chocolate perfection.
- KitKat, as far as I’m aware this is worldwide, there is no need to explain what one is.
