Our Review:
Succotash, a brilliant brunch venue located just off Longfellow, is within a 10-minute walk from the National WWI Museum. Since opening its doors in 2001, it has become a beloved staple of Kansas City. During our April 2023 visit from the UK, we stopped by Succotash before exploring the museum.
The menu is brimming with classic breakfast items like breakfast burritos, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, French toast, grilled cheese, and much more. Our choice of the corned beef hash, recommended by our friends, was a revelation. While no longer on the menu, it was a perfect dish: tender corned beef with a delightful crunch from the occasional crispy pieces, complemented by two perfectly cooked eggs.
The ambiance was delightful, with quirky vibes and a mix of decor styles that added to the charm. The friendly and attentive staff were pleasantly surprised to see a couple of Brits visiting their venue. The prices were quite reasonable, even cheaper than some of the other breakfast spots we had visited during our stay. It was a pity we discovered Succotash late into our two-week visit, as we would have loved to return.
If you’re planning a visit to the National WWI Museum and need a delightful breakfast spot beforehand, make sure to stop by Succotash.

Gourmet Gauge:
The food is amazing here, especially the Corned Beef Hash and the presentation. The service was charming and the prices were some of the best that we paid for breakfast/brunch.
