Canary Islands, Spain & Portugal Cruise Guide: La Palma

Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening to all our readers, wherever you are in the world! My husband and I are passionate about cruises and have enjoyed five wonderful voyages over the past few years. We are thrilled to announce that our next adventure is just around the corner in April, where we will explore the beautiful Canary Islands. This will be a first-time experience for my husband, while for me, it feels like a nostalgic trip down memory lane, having visited Lanzarote, Tenerife, and Gran Canaria during my childhood on all-inclusive holidays.

In anticipation of our upcoming cruise, I have decided to create a series of blog posts showcasing the unique charm of each port we will be visiting. From must-see attractions and hidden gems to the best places to eat, join us as we embark on this exciting journey together. Scroll down to check out our itinerary and get ready to be inspired for your next adventure!

Santa Cruz De La Palma, Things To Do & Places To Eat:

Marina La Palma: Take a stroll round the marina in Santa Cruz de la Palma, take in the ships, sea and sand.
El Cafe de Don Manuel: Have a coffee inside this breathtaking cafe, they serve great coffee, as well as an assortment of cold drinks, sandwiches and sweets.
Real Castillo de Santa Catalina: Visit the site of a fort that once stood
Museo Naval: A Navy Museum inside a ship, inside you’ll find loads of models of ships
Try some local food: Try some Palmero Cheese, a smokey goat cheese or maybe try some Papas Arrugadas, which are wrinkled potatoes served with a tangy mojo sauce.
Try Some Wines: Like the majority of the Canary Islands, La Palma is known for it’s wine. Why not have a tipple or 3?
Balcones de la Avenida Maritima: Take a stroll down here and you’ll notice traditional La Palmarian houses with their famous wooden balconies.

Daily writing prompt
Where would you go on a shopping spree?

To the question above, I will answer it in two ways.
Firstly, the place. If I was to do a shopping spree I would either do it online, or I would take a trip up to our nearest city, Bristol. There, we would either visit Cribbs Causeway, a mall, or Cabot Circus, an indoor and outdoor shopping centre.

Secondly, in terms of shops. I’d probably split my shopping across multiple types, clothes, entertainment, cosmetics etc. An example would be, Pull & Bear, HMV, Lego, Typo, Primark, H&M.

Thank you for taking the time to read our blog post. Have you visited any of the Canary Islands? If so, what places do you recommend us visiting for our upcoming trip?
