From CEO to Estate Agent, and Blog TLC

Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening—wherever in the world you’re reading from, I hope you’re doing well!

Just a little heads-up: over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be giving the blog a bit of a refresh. When I first started The Taste Trekker, I kept things simple, reviewing restaurants with just a few basic points in mind. But since last year, I’ve been using the Gourmet Gauge—a more detailed rating system that scores spots based on taste, presentation, ambience, service, and value for money.

The result? Half the blog posts use the new system, and the other half… well, don’t. So I’ll be going back through older posts to bring everything up to the same standard and give them a little polish along the way.

While I’m at it, I’m also working on tidying up the photo galleries and adding a search bar to the top menu to help you find exactly what you’re looking for a bit more easily.

Thanks so much for sticking around—it means the world! 💛

Daily writing prompt
What’s a job you would like to do for just one day?

If I had the chance to step into any job for just one day, I’d be torn between two wildly different—but equally tempting—choices.

First up, I’d love to be an estate agent. Imagine it: spending the day hopping from one property to the next, exploring gorgeous homes, quirky flats, and hidden gems. I’d get a real buzz from showcasing them to potential buyers, painting a picture of their new dream home. And I won’t lie—part of the thrill would be indulging my nosy side, getting a sneak peek into how other people decorate their spaces! Plus, the travel between locations? A mini urban adventure in itself.

On the flip side, if I were going all-in for sheer reward, I’d want to be the CEO of a mega corporation for a day. Just picture it—corner office, high-stakes decisions, and a juicy paycheque to top it off. One day of boardroom power moves and I could be reaping the benefits for months!
