Live performances — they come in all shapes and sizes. When you hear the phrase, you might picture a roaring music gig or a gripping night at the theatre. But think about it… isn’t a football match, a tense ice hockey game, or even a street performance also live entertainment in its rawest form? With so many thrilling possibilities, why limit ourselves to just one? Let’s dive into a few standout experiences across the spectrum of live performance.
- Music Gig – The last music gig I went to was undeniably the best. It was one that my husband was desperate to go to, and I was in charge of getting tickets…it was the Taylor Swift Era’s Tour. It was a magical night to say the least, without sounding too basic, Karma was the song of the night for me, but I did enjoy the Evermore/Folklore set the most!
- Theatre – The last performance we saw at a theatre was at our local one in Bridgwater, where we saw our first panto, it was Aladdin.
- Football—Now I have to think about this. I haven’t been to a football match in about five or so years. I can’t remember who we played against as an Aston Villa fan, but it was a vital match, as it ended up being the downfall of our then-manager, Steve Bruce. It was a back-and-forth game, and we ended up with a last-minute penalty…and missed, which ended up with a cabbage being thrown at our manager.
- Ice Hockey—The same as above, but not as far back. I saw a game last year at our home team, the Cardiff Devils (I say home, it’s a 90-minute drive away, but it’s the closest top-tier team). Believe it was against The Sheffield Steelers.
