Vinyl, Lego & Travel Trinkets
Daily writing prompt
Do you have any collections?

Yes! My husband and I both have a few collections each. Down below, I will go through them one by one.

  • Vinyl Records: When I met my husband back in 2018, one of the things he told me was that he collects vinyl records. To me, back then, collecting these seemed odd, as I wasn’t aware that they were making a comeback. To this day, he probably has a collection of 300+ vinyl records. Some of these are quite rare, some of them are soundtracks of his favourite shows, and let’s not forget his collection of every Taylor Swift album.
  • Magnets: A while back, we visited my husband’s Auntie, who lives near us. When I stepped into her kitchen, the first thing I noticed was that her fridge was absolutely full of magnets from all the places she had been. I knew I wanted to display my travels in the same way and at this moment in time we currently have 91 magnets stuck on our fridge.
  • Pin Badges: Another collection of my husband’s, this time it is similar to my magnet collection, but instead he tries to pick up a pin badge from any of our travels. This could be 1 pin to summarise a holiday, or maybe a pin from a zoo or brewery that we visit. His collection isn’t as big as pin badges are not as popular and easy to find when compared to magnets.
  • Lego: Now this is a strange one. I love Lego, have done since a young age, but throughout my teenage years, I had this mindset that Lego was for children, not realising all the awesome sets that were out and suitable for adults. Roll forward to last December when I came across an advert on Instagram for a company called Brick Borrow. This company lends you a set from their library, you build it, display it for as long as you want, knock it back down and send it back. This means that you can build loads of Lego sets without having to spend loads of money on the hefty price tags, and you don’t have to make space to display them either! For £15 per month, you get to choose your set from their site, and you can have as many sets as you like throughout the month, depending on how fast you build, of course. You can check them out at www.brickborrow.com
