I’m A Self-Confessed Chocoholic.

Describe your dream chocolate bar.

There are two things in my life that I definitely inherited from my Nan: one is my love of eggs, and the other is my love of chocolate. Obviously, being from the UK, there is one standout manufacturer of chocolate, and that is Cadbury’s. Now, it used to taste a lot better until Kraft took over Cadbury and altered our recipe, but it still tastes above and beyond that of our competitors. Cadbury has a whole range of chocolates which is adored by me and the British public. Let’s go through some of the standout bars.

  • Cadbury Flake: It is a delicate, crumbly bar made of thinly folded ribbons of Cadbury’s signature milk chocolate. Light, airy, and famously messy, it melts effortlessly on the tongue with a rich, creamy finish.
  • Cadbury Twirl: It takes the crumbly magic of a Flake and wraps it in a smooth chocolate coating, giving it structure without sacrificing that signature melt-in-the-mouth texture. It’s essentially a tidier, twin-stick version of the Flake—same silky taste, but less of a mess.
  • Cadbury Wispa: It is a velvety bar of aerated milk chocolate, filled with tiny bubbles that give it a light, mousse-like texture. It delivers the same rich Cadbury flavour but with a soft, melt-in-your-mouth twist that feels almost cloud-like.
  • Cadbury Dairy Milk: It is the brand’s flagship bar, known for its creamy, indulgent milk chocolate made with a generous splash of fresh milk. Simple yet iconic, it’s a smooth and comforting classic that has stood the test of time.
  • Cadbury Boost: It is a dense, chewy bar packed with caramel and biscuit pieces, all wrapped in a thick layer of Cadbury milk chocolate. It’s rich, energising, and unapologetically indulgent—a proper pick-me-up in chocolate form.
  • Cadbury Freddo: It is a fun, frog-shaped treat made of smooth milk chocolate, beloved for its nostalgic charm and pocket-friendly size. Despite its simplicity, it delivers that classic Dairy Milk flavour in a playful, bite-sized form.
  • Cadbury Curly Wurly: It is a retro favourite made of chewy caramel woven into a loopy ladder shape and coated in milk chocolate. Its stretchy texture and fun design make it both a playful and satisfyingly long-lasting treat.

There are also a few chocolate bars that I have loved over the years, which have been sadly discontinued. Some of these were made by Cadbury’s and some by Nestle; those were:

  • Cadbury Taz: It was a childhood favourite, featuring a disc of creamy caramel encased in smooth milk chocolate, often stamped with the mischievous face of Taz from Looney Tunes. It was sweet, simple, and delightfully gooey—like a caramel Freddo with extra character.
  • Nestle Animal Bar: It was a fun milk chocolate treat. Popular with kids, its playful animal shapes add a whimsical twist to a classic chocolate snack.
  • Nestle Caramac: It was a unique caramel-flavoured bar with a smooth, buttery texture that’s distinctly different from regular chocolate. Its sweet, toffee-like taste offers a rich, nostalgic treat that’s both creamy and indulgent.
