Our Upcoming Travel Plans, Canada, US Road Trip, and More…

2025: Ireland

With the year nearly two-thirds of the way through, and with one more week of annual leave left, we chose to do a city break that wasn’t too far to fly to. We chose the city of Dublin, in the Republic of Ireland. We already have rough ideas of what we want to do, including the Guinness & Jameson Whisky tours, visiting the Book of Kells and sampling plenty of Irish cuisine.

2026: Canada, North Wales & The Unknown

When it comes to next year, we currently have two holidays scheduled in, and one more, which is very lightly sketched in using a pencil. We always book the same week off in February, which is the same one that we got married on. We use this as an opportunity to explore new places, and next year we are visiting a new country that we have yet to travel to. Canada! We’re flying out to Toronto for five days to brace the bitter cold and potential snow, but we are excited to visit this city.

Towards the end of August, we have our bi-annual family staycation. This has become a recent tradition in the last 6 years, where we have explored the Yorkshire Moors & the Pembrokeshire Coast. Next year, though, we will be exploring North Wales & Anglesey.

The last holiday we are planning to catch up with our friends from Kansas City, Missouri. They have decided to visit Europe next July, and we plan on meeting them at a location. As it stands, the country has not been decided, but there have been whispers of Italy, Finland & Switzerland.

2027: Massachusetts, Vermont & New Hampshire Fall Road Trip

We come to the most exciting one of the bunch. In 2027, we are planning to go on just ONE holiday, but it’ll be a special one as that year will be our 5-year wedding anniversary. So to celebrate, we are already in the early stages of planning a two-week trip to America to visit Massachusetts, Vermont & New Hampshire in the fall. Not only that, but during this trip we hope to be able to dip into Connecticut, New York & Rhode Island. We want to visit small, cute towns, pumpkin patches, farms, haunted houses and more. So if you’re from any of those states, leave a comment down below on where is best to visit in the fall.

How are you feeling right now?

I am feeling very good. Planning holidays excites me and ignites my passion, so with our 2027 holiday, there is a lot of planning in the early stages to do. Just so we can work out the financial costs of the trip. To do this, I have to work out our day-to-day rough schedule, and then I can work out where to look for B&Bs, attractions, etc, flights & car rental. Apart from that, I started work at 5am, meaning a 4.20am alarm this morning, so I am feeling a little tired, but I will be having an afternoon nap just to give me an exertion of energy.
