Why You Shouldn’t Gamble & Updates to the Website

Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.

The lesson I am going to teach you all is…don’t gamble. I gambled a lot during my late teens and early twenties, to the point where I spent a ridiculous amount of money each weekend. I used to love creating accumulators, and here’s what usually happened. I’d put the midday kick off in, the team I chose would lose, so I’d put a new accumulator on. If that game goes well, then what would then follow is that one team in my choice of 3pm kick offs would then concede early, or have a man sent off…create a new accumulator. If Saturday doesn’t go to plan, don’t worry, we’ll do it again on Sunday. Normally, each accumulator would be £10, so that’s £60 a weekend, or £240 a month. Of course, some weeks their would be midweek games or cup games, then you have internationals, in-play bets and so much more. The heart kicker? You’ll get so close to winning your accumulator, you see your cash-out value is a couple of hundred, and you decide to take it, because one of your teams are drawing and there’s only 5 minutes left. Moments after you cash out, your team goes and scores, and you could of netted £2,000 instead of that £300. Worst feeling ever. Anyway, long story short, I no longer gamble. Haven’t had the need to, and looking back, I think I was addicted.

The Website

Now, the second part of the title. The website. I’m always trying to improve the website, I want the food reviews and travel stories to be fun, rather than too critical. So I’ll be trying to make them more jolly as a starter. Secondly, light blue background, what are we thinking? I’m leaning for a change to a white background, but I’ll create a poll down below. Thirdly…if I change the background, then the logo will have to change, as it has a permanent light blue background to it, and I feel like I want to make it “modern-minimalistic”. Finally, I never check this when writing my blog posts, but the other day I looked at it via how a phone would see it, and it doesn’t look that good, so I may change the theme completely too. Please interact with the poll and the comments, I want peoples opinions on the blog and how it looks, many thanks, Jake, The Taste Trekker.
