What’s my Family Heritage and Traditions | Our Upcoming Dublin Trip
Daily writing prompt
What aspects of your cultural heritage are you most proud of or interested in?

So for me, I don’t know a lot about my cultural heritage, I would love to do a DNA test to understand where my genes have come from. I’d also like to do a family tree online and trace my family as far back as I can. Anyway, I do have some family heritage, in terms of traditions passed down as well as some recipes that have been passed down.

Now, when I say passed down, I’m not talking generations upon generations, I am talking perhaps from my Grandparents down to me. Traditions like visiting your parents once a week for a family meal. My mum’s parents used to always invite everyone round on a Thursday evening and have food, I remember the big mounds that my nan would dish out, huge roast dinners, and then multiple different puddings! Nowadays, my mum has both of her sons round and their respective loved ones for tea on a Tuesday evening.

Another tradition, but this is one that has only happened since I was a child, but even today it still happens. On Christmas morning, my parents always put all our presents in a sack, with a note for Santa to stop here, we open our presents as soon as we awake, and this still happens, even at the ripe old age of 32!

1 Month Until Dublin

We are about a month away until we visit Dublin. We already have some foodie places lined up, and a potential day trip round other parts of Ireland. Have you visited Dublin before and have recommendations on where to try? Drop us a comment down below.

Don’t forget, we also have a competition on to celebrate multiple milestones, but if you want to be in with a chance of winning, all you got to do is follow. On the 1st of November I will randomly choose 1 person to win a £10 gift voucher (Amazon (worldwide) or Love to Eat (UK). Good luck!
