The Taste Trekker

Good morning, good afternoon or good evening, wherever you happen to be reading from. We’ve been reviewing restaurants via our Gourmet Gauge scale for the last year now, and we have managed to do over 80 different venues, some of them casting back from previous adventures over the last couple of years, but a lot have been done from these last 365 days. We have a sticky post at the top of our blog with our scoreboard, but I thought I would show you the current scoreboard in terms of venue type.

On my spreadsheet not only do I have the scoreboard for every eatery, but I have also separated them into categories: restaurants, cafes, bakery’s, cruise ship venues and ice cream parlours. Here are the charts as it stands:

There we have it, that is how the rankings currently stand, we may do monthly updates and stick them to the top of the blog, or we may create a new menu page. If we do a new menu page then it would consist of the full list, where all eateries are compiled onto one chart. Then we will show the top 5 of each category, making sure not to make the page too long. Over time we may just do the top 10 in each category, again, so you’re not endlessly scrolling.

In my previous job as a baker. I feel like they weren’t quite sure on my baking level, and kind of expected more from me it felt like, some people weren’t willing to train me up either. Probably because they were expecting a fully qualified, trained baker to fill the role of a previously trained baker.
