The Queen, Fidel Castro & Two Fat Ladies
Daily writing prompt
If you could meet a historical figure, who would it be and why?

When reading this prompt, at first I couldn’t think of any historical figures that I would want to meet. When I read “historical figure” my instinct tells me it should be someone who impacted history, such as a royal leader, a member of military etc, but thinking of it, surely everyone affects history one way or another, so therefore here is the people I would meet.

Queen Elizabeth II:

She was Queen of England for 70+ years. She had been a constant in many peoples lives, and it was a very strange day when her death was announced. The whole country was in shock. She was like our Grandmother that we never met, always there, always doing the best for the country. She came across like a lovely lady, and I can guarantee you that anyone would of been over the moon to meet her.

Meatloaf:

Haha! A weird one to come in next. I grew up with Meatloaf being played in the car, on the radio and everywhere else. Both of my parents enjoyed his music, so naturally as I grew up, I also played a bit of his stuff. I would of loved to of seen him live at some point, his dramatical, theatrical music is some of the best, and I see a slight resemblance in Chappell Roans music.

Fidel Castro:

They only get weirder. I have had a fascination with Cuba since the old Driver video games, where I believe Driver 2 featured the location of Havana. Since that moment I was interested in the country, and I always had intrigue about Fidel Castro, don’t ask me why, I just did.

David Attenborough:

Another weird one, where this person is still alive, but he’s still considered an historical person in my eyes. He has helped with conservation more than anybody else in the world. At his age, he is still at the forefront of helping to preserve wildlife and plantlife, it would be great to meet him and just to hear him speak of all of his adventures that he has been on.

The Two Fat Ladies:

This one is very unique to a people who grew up watching cooking shows in the UK during the 90s. There was a TV chef duo called The Two Fat Ladies, which were Clarissa Dickson Wright and Jennifer Paterson. My nan watched them back in the day, my mum watched them, and I watched them. Fascinated with them both, their accents is what reeled me in. Both of them passed away many years ago, and it would be great to catch up with them over a banquet!

Thanks for taking the time to read. I hope you’re all having a wonderful day, and have a great weekend to look forward to! Are any of you planning on putting up Christmas decorations this weekend?
