Good morning, good afternoon and good evening, wherever you happen to be reading from. Another great prompt today, and I am going to answer this one, based on the best meals my parents cook on a Tuesday night, when my brother and girlfriend, my husband and myself visit.
Firstly, one that everyone loves, and is cooked maybe once a month, it’s the classic Italian dish of Lasagne. Big hearty portions, served up with chips and garlic bread. Can’t go wrong with it.
Secondly, burgers. This is more commonly served during the summer months where we can sit outside. My parents always offer a selection of toppings, such as your salad ingredients, onion rings and different cheeses. This is normally served alongside chips and potato salad, because lets be honest. You can’t have enough potato.
The final meal my parents cook which we all love is, Christmas Dinner. It’s almost that time of year when the Christmas Roast Dinner pops up. Now, I love a roast dinner. My in-laws do a cracking roast dinner, but nothing beats your mums roast dinner, and at Christmas it is over the top. I’m talking:
- Meat (normally at Christmas Turkey AND Gammon)
- Pigs in Blankets (sausages wrapped in bacon)
- Sausagemeat
- Stuffing
- Yorkshire Pudding
- Roast Potato
- Roast Sweet Potato
- Roasted Carrots
- Roasted Parsnip
- Roasted Onion
- Swede and Carrot Mash
- Sprouts
- Cauliflower Cheese
- Peas
- Bread Sauce/Gravy/Cranberry Sauce
Just writing that out is making my mouth water!
Are any of the meals I’ve listed above the same for your family? Do you have Christmas Dinner (or a festive alternative) and do you have the same sort of ingredients? Thanks once again for tuning in and reading todays daily prompt. Catch you all soon!
