My husband and I are passionate about cruises and have enjoyed eight wonderful voyages over the past few years. We are thrilled to announce that our next adventure is just around the corner in February, when we will explore a beautiful area of Northern Europe.
In anticipation of our upcoming cruise, I have decided to create a series of blog posts showcasing the unique charm of each port we will be visiting. From must-see attractions and hidden gems to the best places to eat, join us as we embark on this exciting journey together.
The Itinerary:

Day 2: Sea Day
Day 3: Hamburg
Day 4: At Sea
Day 5: Rotterdam
Day 6: Rotterdam
Day 7: Bruges
Day 8: Disembark Southampton
Bruges, Things To Do & Places To Eat:
Church of Our Lady: Catholic Church founded in the 13th Century.
Gruuthusemuseum: Ancient palace museum housing historic furniture & tapestries.
Sint-Salvatorskathedraal: A 1300’s cathedral, with cavernous interior and Flemish art.
De Dijver Park: Area just off the canal, lovely photos when boats are moored up.
Koningin Astridpark: A former monastery garden, includes picturesque pond.
2be Shop: Wall of beer, outside canal-side beer patio, plenty of beer to choose.
House of Waffles: Our go-to food stop in Bruges, beautiful Belgium Waffles!
Market Square: Large plaza in the city centre.
Torture Museum: Collection of 100+ torture and execution instruments.
Chocolate: There is an endless amount of chocolate stores, go crazy!
Provincial Palace: Gothic revival landmark, now used as a government meeting house.
Boat Trip: Take a boat trip through the Bruges canals, a must do!
Belfort: Medieval bell tower, 366 steps leading to city views.
Bruges Beer Experience: Museum where visitors learn of beers history, with tastings.
Basilica of the Holy Blood: Small basilica mostly known for having a vial containing a cloth with Christ’s blood on.
De Burg: Ancient cobblestone plaza surrounded by Gothic buildings.
