Dining at Andy’s Frozen Custard:
During our visit to Kansas City, we couldn’t resist stopping by Andy’s Frozen Custard on Westport Road, a local favourite for sweet, creamy indulgence. Known for its rich frozen custard and inventive dessert creations, Andy’s immediately caught our attention with its fun, approachable style. Whether you’re visiting for a quick treat or planning a dessert adventure, this spot is a must-try for anyone exploring the city’s culinary landscape.
Atmosphere & Setting:
Andy’s Frozen Custard has a laid-back, casual atmosphere that suits both dine-in and takeaway. While we primarily experienced it through the efficient drive-thru, a glance inside revealed a modest interior with a few tables and a friendly, upbeat vibe. The Westport location thrives as a takeaway hub, especially during busy evenings, but the energy of the staff and customers makes every visit feel welcoming and lively.
What We Ordered:
The menu at Andy’s is a playground for dessert lovers. We sampled some of their famous Concretes, including the BootDaddy Concrete, a decadent blend of vanilla custard, crème caramel, and hot fudge, as well as the Ooey Gooey Concrete, which featured Heath bar chunks, crème caramel, and almonds. We also explored the customizable Jackhammers, which let you drill fillings like hot fudge or caramel into any Concrete. The generous portions and rich flavours make each treat feel indulgent and satisfying—a true highlight of our culinary tour in Kansas City.
Service & Overall Experience
Service at Andy’s Frozen Custard is friendly, efficient, and full of energy. From the drive-thru greeting to interactions at the service window, the staff exude genuine enthusiasm, making the experience feel joyful and personal. Even during peak times, the team’s professionalism and warmth ensure that each order is delivered with a smile, leaving a lasting impression beyond the dessert itself.
Final Thoughts:
When it comes to value for money, Andy’s Frozen Custard hits the sweet spot. Concretes average around $7 (£5.40), and upgrading to a Jackhammer is just $0.49 (about 37p) extra—an excellent deal for such generous, high-quality portions. With its combination of rich flavours, creative desserts, and welcoming service, Andy’s is a standout Kansas City dessert destination that shouldn’t be missed, whether you’re a local or just passing through.
