Good morning, good afternoon and good evening, wherever you happen to be reading from. Firstly I want to welcome you all to the weekend! For those of you who work Monday to Friday, you’ve made it through, now relax! Today was supposed to be a food review, in fact, we have enough in the pipeline to do a Top 100, however I am baking today, and have the in-laws coming round for the afternoon before going out for a meal. So, it’s a writing prompt, and at that, it’ll be a short one.
I had a few moments back in my late teens, early twenties when I started to feel like an adult. Firstly, dating. Oh the days of misery, dates that never went to plan, dates that never got to a second date. Those days made me feel like an adult, driving somewhere, picking some stranger up and seeing if you get along, seems like such a weird concept when wrote out, but still, it made me feel like an adult.
Of course, when you get your own house, that is the pinnacle of feeling like a grown up, mortgage payments. Paying council tax. Overpaying electricity because British Gas can’t do their job properly. Very adult stuff.
To make it slightly relatable to my blog, going out for a meal makes me feel grown up. Before my parents would take me and my brother out for a meal at a local pub. The first time I went out to a restaurant with my husband felt very grown up. Holidays! Going on holidays with just me and my husband made me feel grow up. Once again, I only went on holidays with my parents beforehand, so going without them felt strange, and the second holiday we did was Kansas City, and it felt so strange not having them there with me.
What makes you feel grown up? Did we have anything in common, I would love to hear it! Feel free to drop a follow too, we hit our 100 follower goal, and now we are aiming for 150 followers before the year is out. Stay up to date with our tastings and travels and keep on tasting and travelling yourselves too!
