Generosity or Greed & Planning a Night Away
Daily writing prompt
If you had a million dollars to give away, who would you give it to?

Good morning, good afternoon and good evening, wherever you happen to be reading from. Today I am writing to answer todays Daily Writing Prompt, as well as discussing a surprise night away for my husband and I (thankfully he doesn’t read my blog, boooo!).

Regarding the DWP, I am going to presume that I cannot keep any of it myself, which is completely fair…I mean, I don’t want a million dollars anyway…right? RIGHT?

Firstly. Family. Initially, I am thinking $100,000 per core family member, but then realised that would sink nearly $600,000 just like that. So what I would do is $100,000 per family couple. Mum and dad, brother and girlfriend, parents-in-law. Just like that I have halved the original cost, and it now comes in at $300,000.

Secondly, I would give $200,000 to my husband, because lets be honest, he will share it with me (find a hole, make a loop. Loop hole.).

Finally, charity. I have always loved dogs, so a good chunk would probably go towards Dogs Trust or local kennels and vets, so let’s say $250,000. So far we have spent $750,000 and have one quarter of our million left over. With the final quarter I would split it up into $50,000 chunks and just randomly gift it to strangers. If I see someone do a good deed, $50,000. Maybe I see someone living on the streets, and my heart goes all gooey because they have a dog, $50,000. I would do this until I have nothing left. Therefore giving away $1,000,000.

Night Away Plan

So my husband is a teacher and his half term is coming up. I have a midweek day off that week with an early finish the day before, so I am planning on taking him somewhere for a night away. At the moment I have a few thoughts.

  • Oxford – city not too far away that we haven’t properly spent any time in
  • New Forest – the amount of times we go there, it’s almost like a second home
  • Cotswolds – Visited a few times, never done a night over before

I will do some price costing and see which one turns out to be the best value for money.

Thank you for reading my newest blog post. Tomorrow I hope to do another food review as I have a lot of European eateries to catch up on. So for now, keep on tasting, and keep on trekking!
