Ladies and gentlemen, grab your spoons and prepare your taste buds — it’s time for the ultimate frozen showdown! In todays matchup, representing the sun-soaked streets of Málaga, we have Helados y Turrones, masters of traditional Spanish flavours. Swinging in from Cádiz, with zesty flair and a citrusy punch, it’s Heladería El Limonero. Hailing all the way from the Emerald Isle, bringing creamy innovation and a cheeky scoop of charm, it’s Murphy’s Ice Cream from Dublin. From the northwest coast of Spain, where the waves meet the waffle cones, give it up for Helados la Ibi in La Coruña. And last but certainly not least, launching straight out of Barcelona with a flair for show-stopping creations, it’s Lucciano’s The Moon!
Helados Y Turrones Casa Mira – Málaga
💥 Up first in the ring: Helados y Turrones Casa Mira – Malaga, Spain! 💥
- Origin: Sunny streets of Malaga
- Weight Class: Heavy hitter in the gelato world
- Signature Moves: Classic strawberry, vanilla, chocolate… and surprise takedowns with green apple, sweet wine, and tutti frutti
- Arena Presence: Solid, unassuming — looks like your standard gelato vendor, but don’t underestimate it
- Crowd Reaction: Mixed — flavour packs a punch, but service left a slightly cold reception (maybe missed their siesta!)
- Overall Power Move: Good gelato, strong flavour selection, but hasn’t yet claimed the championship belt
Gourmet Gauge: A strong and varied selection of ice cream, the place itself was pleasant, but at the same time, unremarkable, nothing shone through. Service was slightly cold…pardon the pun, but it was good value for money, and cooled us down in the scorching summer heat.

Heladería El Limonero – Cadiz
🍋💥 Entering the ring: Heladería El Limonero – Cádiz, Spain! 💥🍋
- Origin: Cádiz, Spain
- Weight Class: Cruiserweight contender — agile, refined, and technically sound
- Signature Moves: Strong classic flavours like chocolate and strawberry, backed up by a small but tasty selection of more unique scoops
- Arena Presence: Functional but dated — a larger, older venue with seating and fans, comfortable in the heat but lacking the modern polish of its rival
- Crowd Reaction: Positive — friendly service and English-speaking staff make tourists feel instantly at ease
- Overall Power Move: A polished, enjoyable gelato experience that delivers quality and comfort, but doesn’t quite land the knockout blow
Gourmet Gauge: Strong flavours and friendly, tourist-aware service score well on taste and service, while the more dated setting and limited flavour range hold back the overall impact. A solid, enjoyable gelato stop — reliable, but not quite championship level.
